After writing my first piece for solo guitar Uncanny Valley for the Dundee Guitar Festival in 1995 I had wanted to write a shorter perhaps more immediately accessible work , the previous guitar work running at over twenty minutes is undeniably a long one – movement solo .
The opportunity was given when friend, guitar student, and local Dundee businessman, Richard Han, to whom the piece is dedicated, asked if I would write him a short work.
As a present these four movements were written.
